How to Build Inbound SEO Links the Right way!
Like anything else in life there is a right way and a wrong way to do inbound seo linking.
A successful inbound linking strategy will send high-quality directed traffic to your site and boost your pagerank with search engines, while a poor strategy will lower your rank and possibly turn into a ban.
When creating an inbound link strategy, know the big list of don’ts from search engines:
- Don’t create 1,000s of inbound links in a single day—this looks and smells fishy.
- Don’t link to hundreds of unrelated websites.
- Don’t post hidden links.
- Don’t use link farms or automated link exchange systems.
- Don’t pay for links, as these are never high quality.
Now, for the big list of do’s:
- Use Reciprocal Links—Reciprocal link exchanges should be done within your vertical and with only high-quality sites. To be effective these should be limited in number.
- One-Way Links—These are better than reciprocal links as reciprocals are generally an agreement between two websites where as a one-way link signifies genuinely important content.
- Directory Submissions—Do not confuse this with link farms, a directory submission should be on a site from your company’s vertical that links to other like-minded sites similar to yours.
- Article Submission—Submitting articles to highly rated sites like ezine and ehow will give you a high-quality one-way link. The article should be a relevant article with value to the reader.
- Press Releases—press releases are a great way to create inbound links from extremely high-quality sites. There are several PR sites to submit to including both small sites within your vertical and large unspecific sites.
- Testimonials, Forums and Comments—creating testimonials and leaving comments on other sites and forums with a link to your site can be a big help. Extra points if you leave a comment on a subject that is related to your website and that you are considered an expert in.
- Blogs—creating your own blog or submitting original articles to other blogs will create high-quality inbound links.
- High-Traffic Site Links—if there is a site in your vertical that already has high traffic, getting a link on that site will be incredibly meaningful. While it is more difficult to do it has a bigger payoff.
- Social Networking Links—Sending out status updates over your social network with your link is a great strategy as search engines are beginning to pick up on social network content.
While creating a successful inbound linking strategy is important, following up with those links regularly is just as important. In order to continue garnering high-quality inbound links ensure that your website content is valuable, up to date, and user friendly.
