Google can see flash text now!?

Good news for all of you Flash developers and lovers … Google can see flash text now!

Google posted an article dated November 11, 2010 titled “What a feeling! Even better indexing of SWF content” Now everything that I thought about Flash being invisible to Google and its crawlers has to be…re-cashed into my brain!

Webmasters are often asking …”how can I get my flash content cashed in to Google?” Until now the answer has typically been “make it text and get it out of flash” …but it seems that’s not the case anymore!

Two years ago Google announced that in collaboration with Adobe they had significantly improved Google’s ability to index flash content, and last year they announced that they added swf indexing capabilities, which included all kinds of flash content like links, buttons and menus, Just last month (October 2010) Google expanded their swf (flash file) indexing capabilities …and NOW almost any text that a user can see in a flash file can be indexed by Google for search queries!

Developers beware though, Google still puts top ranking priority on non flash sites, yes that means that flash sites are still ranking lower than other traditional sites but, the good news is that now Google can at least see them.
