Google introduces a brand new search feature …Instant Previews!

What is Google Instant previews?  It’s a brand new Google search feature that helps you find the info you want faster and with visual previews of each result!

This means that in addition to the traditional Title, description and all of those fancy Meta tags is a simple visual preview of the page and its content! It’s like visiting the site without visiting the site. It helps you determine if you want that result or another faster than ever.

This not only allows the designers of the world the opportunity to show their design in place of all that text, with a visual and appealing preview but it assists in enticing the potential searcher to visit the site by showing the content on the actual page of the web site that is relevant to the search string.

Having a visual instant preview can be so much more appealing than the traditional … “click here to visit our site!” Text that often times does not get read anyway.

So how does this work?

By optimizing your web site with search engine optimizations “best practices” …when your web site gets cashed in to Google …Google will automatically also create a screen shot of the web page that the content is on that is relevant to the search criteria.

Then when a  search is run  in Google.com …for instance “custom web design ma” and the results are displayed, there is an icon of a magnifying glass which, when clicked on shows a zoomed-out snapshot of the underlying page to the right of the Google search results page.

 Google instant preview

Google says that instant previews make a search result %5 more likely to be clicked on, which is great news for those that are cashed in on Google’s search engine.

A special thanks to Anne Ashley of www.pixelmapcreations.com for this fantastic information!
